With sandy beaches, rocky coves and few surprising old ruins by the sea just a few minutes stroll away, plus walks in the rolling hills and woods around us, there’s plenty to explore on foot, or bike, right from the door. We’re also ideally situated to explore this unspoilt region of South West Scotland. The Artist’s Town of Kirkcudbright with it’s harbour, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and calendar of events is 8 miles away, as is the picturesque village of Gatehouse of Fleet. The Galloway mountains and forests are just a few miles inland offering great walking, mountain bike trails and watersports at Loch Ken. The area is also recognised for its clear skies as one of the 12 best stargazing sites in the world, and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK.
